Management Team

David Sluter, Chief Executive Officer
Founder and Chief Executive Officer David Sluter is a registered professional engineer in all of the New England states and has actively practiced as a consulting engineer for over 20 years. In 1985, he founded New England Construction as a general contracting company providing pre-engineered steel building and erection services to larger contractors and private clients in the commercial/industrial building construction market. Since its inception, the company has remained true to its founding values of integrity, excellence and commitment to every customer. David is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, as well as a graduate of the Harvard Business School OPM Program.

Marge Sluter, Vice President
Marge has served New England Construction as Treasurer since the company’s inception over 25 years ago. Working side-by-side with her husband, David, Marge has developed and managed New England Construction’s finance operations as the company has grown and evolved. Adept at negotiating the challenges of project finances, Marge offers her great experience and comprehensive understanding of the company and its operations. Before beginning New England Construction, Marge began her career as a teacher after receiving her BA from Westfield State College with a major in Mathematics and minor in Education.

John Pignataro, President & Chief Operating Officer
John is responsible for all aspects of Pre-Construction, Design and Construction activities here at New England Construction and brings with him 18 years of experience in the construction field across the areas of design, engineering, procurement, estimating and construction management. Prior to joining New England Construction, John served as a member of the Fluor Corporation executive management team in the roles of Project Director and Regional Manager for US Northeast Operations. He has gained extensive previous experience gained at companies such as ADP Marshall and Marshall Contractors in the areas of project management and engineering. John received his AS in Architectural Engineering from the Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Michael Alviano, Director, Finance 
Michael’s role is to oversee the day-to-day operations of New England Construction Finance and Accounting departments. Michael is responsible for managing long and short term cash flow requirements, giving appropriate recognition to the annual budget, the seasonality of operating cash flow, and the financing of capital projects. Prior to joining New England Construction, Michael served as the Director of Finance/Operations for Advanced Business Machines, Inc.  There, Michael managed the Accounting/Administration, Service, and Warehouse Departments.  Michael also served as Controller for Energy Source, Inc. for six years.  While at Energy Source, Michael was responsible for designing and preparation of all financial statements and quarterly reports for shareholders, creating quarterly budgets, and overseeing all company financial decisions.  Michael has his BS in Accounting from Bryant College.

Greg Post, Vice President of Business Development 
Greg's role is to oversee the sales and marketing department of New England Construction. He is responsible for developing and implementing the overall sales and marketing strategy, including managing the sales team, developing and maintaining the marketing budget, planning and execute networking events, managing existing customer interactions as well strategic new customer acquisition. Greg has been with New England Construction for over 10 years.   Greg has his BA from Assumption College, in Worcester, MA.
