Superintendent

Description:

The Superintendent is responsible for providing overall day-to-day on-site administration and technical management on construction projects. Maintain and direct the coordination of subcontractor activity.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ensures that the day-to-day coordination of subcontractors on the jobsite turn out high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule.
  • Executes work procedures, interprets specifications, and coordinates various phases of construction to prevent delays and provides assistance with client demands.
  • Monitors field work to ensure compliance with safety regulations, company standards, procedures, specifications and codes. Must be able to create and maintain a safety first environment.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of contract documents to be able to plan ahead and anticipate potential problems before they arise.
  • Responsible for the overall coordination and management of the jobsite.
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, resource plans, and status reports including developing and implementing complete project schedules to ensure required dates are met.
  • Facilitate pre-construction meetings, site visits, and subcontractor meetings on a weekly basis.
  • Communicates schedule updates and changes to the Project Team.
  • Requires travel to other New England states based on project demand.
  • Must be able perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledgeable of the construction process, safety procedures, construction materials and methods, read and understand blueprints.
  • Retail, automotive, healthcare and/or multi-family project experience desired
  • Experience on projects valued between $1 million and $10 million preferred
  • OSHA 30 certification and MA site supervisors license a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of safety regulations

Position Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Degree from an accredited college or university program preferred
  • 5-10 years’ experience in Commercial Construction experience
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job.

Project Engineer

Description:

New England Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing team.

The Project Engineer assists and supports the Project Manager and Superintendent on assigned projects. The position will require independent problem solving, decision making and the implementation of standard engineering procedures to direct the flow of the project. The Project Engineer will provide input to Project Manager regarding project planning and scheduling of project components and milestones.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Required to attend weekly onsite meetings including subcontractor coordination meeting, owner/architect meeting, and provide follow up meeting minutes packages to the Project Manager and Superintendent.
  • Must have knowledge of RFI tracking including, but not limited to:
    • Maintaining the RFI log and submittal log
    • Change Order Management
      • Compile Change Orders
      • Issue Sub Amendments
      • Maintain Change Logs
  • Assist the Project Manager in pre-construction meetings and site visits with the owner/client to discuss and meet project requirements in order to establish project work plan and deadlines.
  • Responsible for assisting the Project Manager with the closeout process including, but not limited to develop and maintain the closeout log, complete operation and maintenance manuals, and maintain punchlists.
  • Assist the Project Manager with client interface and subcontractor agreements.
  • Job based in Rumford, RI, but will require some travel to other New England states based on project demand.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Project Manager

New England Construction is seeking a Project Manager to provide overall management direction for two or more projects and to develop new business opportunities relative to a particular Client or group of clients. The position will be based in Rumford, RI, but will require travel to other New England states based on project demand.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate pre-construction meetings and site visits with the owner/client to discuss and define project requirements in order to establish project work plan and deadlines
  • Lead, manager and mentor all direct reports at the project level: Assistant Project Manager(s); Superintendent(s); Assistant Superintendents(s); Project Engineer(s); and Construction Administration staff
  • Accountable for Project Change Order process, Project Change Order Administration, and Project Change Order Routing/Approval as it relates to each project
  • Manage client interface and subcontractor agreements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Prior experience in pre-construction planning, residential construction, and estimating.
  • Knowledge of construction industry computer software - experience with Timberline and Microsoft Project is a plus
  • Customer relationship management
