David Sluter, PE
Chief Executive Officer
The inspiration behind our philosophy and mission.
Since its inception, New England Construction has remained true to its founding values of integrity and excellence – along with an unwavering commitment to each customer and project. These values are a direct outgrowth of the leadership of our founder, David Sluter.
A veteran of the construction industry for over 40 years, and a graduate of the Harvard Business School OPM Program, David continues to serve NEC and its varied base of clients in a high-level capacity. This includes providing the strategic vision to guide our organization and its overall mission. His extensive resource of real-world wisdom, gained through decades of active practice as a registered engineer, also serves to elevate the daily efforts of our multifaceted staff.
The driving force behind our day-to-day operations.
Matt’s career in the construction industry began in 2001. As President, he is responsible for client relationship management and ensuring that the New England Construction team clearly understands Owner expectations throughout the life cycle of the project. Prior to serving in his current role, Matt held the positions of Vice President and Client and Project Advocate. Additionally, he served in the role of Project Manager for the construction of numerous projects and programs, where he was responsible for providing oversight of day-to-day construction activity, as well as establishing and implementing project objectives and performance standards.
Matt is a graduate of Bucknell University and a LEED Accredited Professional. He is actively involved with the International Council of Shopping Centers, the National Association of Industry and Office Professionals, and the Urban Land Institute.
Vice President of Operations
An added measure of oversight, guidance and structure.
George has a 16 year background in construction, encompassing a range of project types and delivery methods. In his role as Director of Operations, he is responsible for all aspects of Pre-Construction, Design and Construction activities at New England Construction and brings with him extensive experience in the construction field across the areas of design, engineering, procurement, estimating and construction management. Prior to joining New England Construction, George served as a Senior Project Manager for Gilbane Building Company. He has extensive experience on a wide range of commercial and institutional project types.
George holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Syracuse University and a Masters in Executive Construction Management from New York University.
Director of Finance
Insuring accuracy in financial reporting and supporting customers with financing expertise.
As Director of Finance, Ethan oversees all reports, budgets and financial decisions. His forecasting role includes hands-on site visits to anticipate issues, survey jobsite progress and ensure adherence to schedule. Reporting is another key area where he ensures the accuracy and integrity of project financials.
Ethan also brings an extensive amount of experience in real estate finance and development, in particular in modeling and arranging the financing for complex projects.
Ethan has successfully served in a variety of roles in real estate development and construction over the past 14 years.
Director of Estimating
Empowering early decisions and successful delivery.
In the earliest phases of the project, the implementation of predictive cost estimating is key to supporting NEC’s Master Scheduling Exercise Process. As our Director of Estimating, Geoff brings 37 years of construction industry experience to this crucial and complex function. In a fast-track construction environment, a variety of components are required to generate an effective estimating effort. Constructability considerations and what-if analyses are carefully examined. Graphic takeoffs are used as a tool to support overall decision making, and also to ensure complete and accurate bid coverage with no overlaps in scope.
Geoff’s role is not only to implement streamlined processes to accelerate project startup. His application of value engineering can help to bring a project under budget. During project execution, Geoff’s on-going oversight helps to ensure adherence to schedule, often despite substantial changes in scope.
Director of Business Development
Building strong and lasting partnerships.
Kim brings over 14 years of experience in sales, marketing, risk management and business development to New England Construction. In her role on the New England Construction management team Kim oversees business development and marketing. She is focused on existing client relationships as well as new client acquisitions. Kim’s responsible for implementing the company’s business strategies surrounding client service and satisfaction and building long term business relationships. She also manages the firm’s marketing programs, brand management and corporate sponsorships.
Kim has a bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College. She is an active member of ICSC and serves on the Boston Next Gen Committee. She is also a member of CREW Boston, successor to NEWiRE, New England's leading network of professional women working in commercial real estate. She serves on the Community Involvement Committee and CREW Committee. Locally, Kim volunteers her time to serve on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Warwick and together with her family she donates her time to the Seekonk Public Library.
Committed to developing a team of excellence.As HR Manager for New England Construction, Amy manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the company. The major areas include talent acquisition and retention, organizational development and planning, performance management and improvement, policy development and documentation, employee onboarding and off boarding, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration. Amy is focused on motivating and engaging employees on a daily basis.
Amy is a graduate of Assumption College, successfully completing both her Bachelor’s in Management and her Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources. In addition, she received her Human Resources Management Certification from Bryant University.
