We are seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our growing team.  The Accounts Payable Coordinator reports to the Director of Finance, and is responsible for performing a variety of professional level accounting duties including general accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.  The Accounts Payable Coordinator will perform analytical work and conduct thorough reviews of financial records as well as some general administrative functions.

What You’ll Do

  1. Assist the Director of Finance with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department.
  2. Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, as well as project based reconciliations of job costs including subcontractor, labor and other expenses.
  3. Review all incoming invoices for accuracy and code each invoice to job numbers and GL accounts, and utilize NEC’s system to route invoices for internal approval.
  4. Maintain overall responsibility for the accounts payable process, including processing and payment of both project related and overhead invoices, and staff reimbursements. Work closely with the Director of Finance and Billing Supervisor on the weekly check run process and be responsible for collecting all subcontractor payment waivers.
  5. Perform job costing coding functions related to payroll and credit card transactions, and enforce internal approval process related to credit card purchases.
  6. Perform the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary. Perform reclassification of job cost expenses, including subcontractor and labor expense, as needed.
  7. Assist in the preparation of financial reports including but not limited to general ledger budget performance, project based reconciliations and customer aging reports and statements.
  8. Support the Billing Supervisor with the preparation of customer invoices and supporting materials as needed, such as subcontractor waiver logs, owner affidavits, etc.
  9. Communicate with subcontractors and vendors regarding status of payment as needed. Ensure subcontractors are in compliance with contract requirements, such as insurance, prior to sending payment.
  10. Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

  1. Ability to monitor and collect data to assess accuracy and integrity; analyze data; ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. General Accepted Accounting Principles), rules, regulations and systems of internal control; interpret and evaluate results, prepare documentation; create financial reports and/or presentations.

SUMMARY

New England Construction is seeking a qualified candidate for an Estimator in our Estimating Department. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing complex estimates for assigned projects of medium to large size and complexity. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and customer service skills and will be able to manage concurrent projects as well as have the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Analyzes drawings, specifications, reviews proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings and walk through’s to determine scope, duration and cost of work to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
  2. Performs detailed quantity and labor takeoffs of all divisions. Prepares estimates, including schedules for use in selecting vendors/subcontractors.
  3. Coordinates total estimating effort relevant to particular bid/project as assigned and submits the bid in a timely manner in accordance with the client’s deadline.
  4. Interfaces with client, architect, engineer and subcontractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
  5. Follows awarded contracts as assigned – may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring material, etc.
  6. Acts as a resource to project management during the award / start-up phase to clarify any issues regarding what was considered in the estimate including materials and methods of construction.
  7. Assist in managing and adding subcontractors to the database.
  8. Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure current market conditions are included in the estimate.
  9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  1. Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary.

Operations Intern

  • Calling subcontractors as needed.
