LA Fitness was born in California and continues to expand across the country. This state of the art fitness facility includes an indoor heated lap pool, whirlpool, saunas, locker rooms, basketball and racquetball courts, group exercise rooms and cardio equipment space. The ground-up construction of these new facilities takes 180 days while renovations of existing spaces are completed in 150 days. They range in size from 40,000—60,000 sf. To date, landlord work has been completed for Wilder Companies at Garden City Center in Cranston, RI and Brixmor in Stratford, CT. A major structural renovation and fit out was completed in Warwick, RI. We most recently completed a new ground up facility in Natick, MA as well as the tenant fit out work in Stratford, CT.
New England Construction has been involved with several retail plaza renovation projects that included landlord work for the core & shell, and fit out, of Planet Fitness facilities. In 2013 we completed a project with Charter Realty at the White City Shopping Plaza in Shrewsbury MA and in 2018 we completed work at the Westgate Mall location in Brockton, MA.
New England Construction worked closely with Boston Properties at The Prudential Center to design a new 2,800 sf space for Flywheel Sports, featuring a state-of-the-art sound system for the playlists created by the in-house DJ, personalized tablet based performance logs and stadium-style seating. The spin gym features Flywheel-designed and custom-made bikes tailored to offer added comfort and encourage maximum performance. The large flat-screen monitors at the front of the studio display class leaders. Consistent communication was necessary to coordinate regarding required shutdowns, delivery schedules and base building system integration. Proper care was taken to ensure the safety of patrons and to minimize noise disruption to the nearby tenants.
New England Construction is proud to partner with LLB Architects, the Moses Brown School and SquashBusters to oversee the design and construction of a brand new athletic facility at the school’s Providence campus. In addition to 12 regulation squash courts, the building will feature other spaces meant to enhance the academic and athletic development of the students at Moses Brown. This facility is projected to be completed in November of 2017.
