New England Construction was hired to restore the Weekapaug Inn to incorporate many updated features while preserving the character and historic charm of the original structure, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Inn incorporates 27 guest rooms and four two-bedroom signature suites. The Inn now has a private waste treatment facility to properly handle sanitary sewer requirements. A new three-lane, 25-yard lap pool, heated by on-site geothermal wells, was constructed adjacent to the Fenway Cottage, which houses the fitness center, exercise room, and three guest rooms on the second floor. A beach house was also built with showers, changing areas and a restaurant.
Bartaco is inspired by the beach culture of Brazil, Uruguay and Southern California. They serve upscale street tacos with a coastal vibe in a relaxed environment. Bartaco is located in the seaport district of Boston. The restaurant is on the ground floor of Thomson Place, a structure originally built in 1907. This historic street was once a railroad line. The heavy timbers used to support the original floor structure of this old factory building were reused throughout the building’s construction. You can spot them at the ceiling, vestibule, hostess station, and bar.
