Field Operations Intern

The Field Operations Intern will provide support to the Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Field Engineers on specific projects. This position reports to the jobsite on a daily basis and is 100% in the field. Through this internship, our hope is that you will gain knowledge and experience directly related to your area of study.

 

Typical Responsibilities/Duties

Field Operations Intern responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ability to learn and support the site Superintendent with carrying out New England Construction’s construction procedures and ensure consistency on job sites.
  • Attend weekly onsite meetings including Subcontractor coordination meetings, owner/architect meetings, and internal team meetings. Take notes as needed.
  • Effectively support the Project Team throughout the RFI and submittal process as needed.
  • Ensure team members and Subcontractor(s) have all current construction documentation.
  • Establish and maintain the project quality files and documentation systems to NEC standards.
  • Receive Procore Certifications and ability to use Procore effectively.
  • Assist in preparing daily construction and safety reports using Procore Software.
  • Assist in the preparation of final records for the project such as closeout manuals, punchlists, and RCL’s.
  • Assists in monitoring field work to ensure compliance with safety regulations, company standards, procedures, specifications and codes. Must be able to create and maintain a safety-first environment. 
  • Perform various responsibilities as assigned by the site Superintendent.
  • Participate in New England Construction training programs as required. 
  • Requires travel up to 1 hour based on project demand.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related area of study.
